Susan Conroy, who translated it from French to English, was on Johnette Benkovich's "Women of Grace" show on EWTN recently discussing it. She mentioned that this book was a favorite of St. Therese of Lisieux. We are definitely living in a "time of tribulation".

"When you are in tribulation, and all these things come upon you in the latter days, you will return to the LORD your God and obey his voice, for the LORD your God is a merciful God; he will not fail you or destroy you or forget the covenant with your fathers which he swore to them." (Deuteronomy 4:30-31)

I have listened to two of Father Michael's homilies. One in Spanish and one in English. If you are at all interested in angels, I can highly recommend the one in English on that topic:
Angelology homily

Father makes an excellent point about how Catholic teachings on subjects like angels that are in conflict with secularism are downgraded by many within the Church. The result is that young people end up going to exotic religions in search of spirituality, when the full teachings of the Catholic Church are replete with spirituality. It's only the stripped down protestant-ized version of Catholicism that is empty and needs to search out social causes in order to seem "relevant".Michaelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05204113920771985325noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7519955364880984061.post-59310149748811899042011-07-06T10:22:04.675-04:002011-07-06T10:22:04.675-04:00Thank you for posting this. In Fr Arminjon's book, he writes that some of the greatest saints will live during the last times. We may not be living in those times but, rest assured, God will send true laborers into his harvest in times of persecution.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
